BB4: Discussion Board

The Discussion Board feature of Blackboard is a self-contained mechanism to orchestrate and capture student input on topics posted by the instructor. This hands-on course shows you how to create a Discussion Board menu button for student access, how to create discussion Forums, how to re-sequence Forums, how to create a discussion Thread, and how to view and respond to student postings. The course also shows you how to use the new discussion participation grading feature, how to “lock” threads so that they become read-only, how to delete a posting which is inappropriate, and provides ideas and examples of the many uses to which Discussion Boards can be put. In preparation for this training, you should have taken BB1: Blackboard Basics and BB2: Grade Center Part 1 or you need equivalent experience.

Technology workshops are designed primarily for faculty. Staff are welcome to register if they have teaching assignments or if they are directly involved in assisting faculty in teaching and research. However priority is given to faculty if registration exceeds the cap. If registration is full, please sign up for the wait list for current or future sessions.
