Course Information
BB1: Blackboard Basics
This hands-on course takes instructors from logging in, posting announcements, obtaining your course roster, how to do “broadcast” and selective e-mailing to students through course setup by renaming and adding menu buttons, improve visual interest with content page banners, post documents, sound files and web page links. Participants also learn how to locate and embed relevant video segments in a Blackboard course, how to create and post .pdf files, how to use DePaul library e-reserves to provide student reading materials, how to make courses accessible to students, and how to initiate copying of a Blackboard course to a subsequent academic term. Bring a flash drive with your syllabus and other materials you would like to post and you’ll actually begin to create one of your course Blackboard web sites.
Technology workshops are designed primarily for faculty. Staff are welcome to register if they have teaching assignments or if they are directly involved in assisting faculty in teaching and research. However priority is given to faculty if registration exceeds the cap. If registration is full, please sign up for the wait list for current or future sessions.
