Technology Tools

Course Content Tools

Blackboard incorporates web pages, email, discussion boards, chat rooms, small group areas, online quizzes, an online grade book, document sharing, and more to create an online learning environment.
Instruction Builder 2 allows faculty to build interactive lessons by creating lessons, quizzes, and assignments. All of these objects can be shared, reused or used in multiple lessons.
Respondus enhances the functionality and usability of Blackboard's quiz and survey tools.

Collaborative Tools

Annotations enables faculty and students to continue an online instructional conversation centered on a specific piece of written work or some other digital artifact.
Mailman Forums are e-mail discussion lists that can be managed through the web.

Instructional Tools

iClicker provides faculty with an easy-to use classroom response system for interaction with their students.

Assessment Tools

QuickData 2 provides the database back-end for collecting data from online surveys or forms.
Turn-it-In provides faculty members with a fairly simple, easy-to-use service to check the work of students who may have plagiarized.

Multimedia Tools

ITD has multimedia tools that enable faculty to quickly and easily create audio recordings of lectures, conference speakers, and other instructional material. Recordings can be transferred to the faculty lab computers for editing and streaming over DePaul's Streaming Media server.
