INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN TIPS: Group Work

Evaluate the Group as a Whole - Grading

  • Establish criteria ahead of time and share with students
  • Link criteria to learning goals, ie - if learning to work in groups is one reason you give students as to why they are working in groups, provide a grade for that criteria
  • [Tip: Have student groups create a Portfolio of their work, showing growth and improvement over time.]
