Blackboard Assessment

Course Design Tips

Assessments
This contains practical strategies for designing, implementing and managing quizzes & surveys in Blackboard or on a website.

Respondus: Exam Creation Tool for Blackboard

What it does - Respondus is a powerful software application that enhances the functionality and usability of Blackboard's quiz and survey tools. It also provides seamless synchronization of print-based and online exams.
How it works - Respondus creates Blackboard exams and surveys "offline". It supports seven types of questions, including feedback and allows faculty to import questions from text files. This feature makes Respondus ideal for converting publisher test banks or old quizzes and tests into online versions. Respondus also supports the use of mathematical and scientific symbols using its Equation Editor or MathType. Faculty can use the Exam Wizard to create an assessment in minutes.
How to get started - To obtain a copy of the Respondus software click Respondus Download.
Ready-to-Use Blackboard Quiz
This is a ready-to-use quiz that can be assigned in coordination with the Blackboard Student Tutorial (see below), and then uploaded directly into Blackboard. This quiz will help make sure your students are prepared to use Blackboard in your courses.
Blackboard Student Tutorial
This tutorial explains how the Blackboard system works for students at DePaul. Students should view this tutorial before using Blackboard for the first time.
